Technical Program Manager
As the Senior Technical Program Manager, this role reports to our Senior Director of Program Management, driving the execution of product initiatives and software releases to ensure Zonar products ship on time and with high quality. Leveraging agile practices, this role works work closely with our product management, software development, testing, and support teams to best meet Zonar’s business needs. Through agile principles, values, and the scrum framework, this role manages, through servant leadership, the implementation and deployment of new and existing software and hardware. This position requires a highly motivated individual who is comfortable working within a skilled technical environment with rapid changes in requirements, direction and environment. The successful candidate will be customer-oriented, results driven, possess strong communication skills, and a passion for shipping innovative quality software to delight our customers.
At Zonar, product management owns the “what” and “why”, engineering owns the “how”, and program management owns the “when” and the agile process. The role of a technical program manager requires strong skills as an agile coach, scrum master, and technical program manager working with minimal oversight and guidance. To be successful, you need the following skills

Lead efforts to scope and deliver features and functionality within the existing software base

Work with Product Owners and stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into quality user stories
- Prioritization of deliverables through Sprint planning

Work with engineers on technical aspects of the product/project

Coach teams to leverage the scrum framework and embrace agile values and principles

Facilitate communication within and between the development teams and the product owners to collaboratively ship product, includes meetings for prioritization, estimation/planning, and facilitating all scrum ceremonies

Manage issues to resolution, provide escalation management, make appropriate tradeoffs, and meet committed timelines

Clearly communicate goals, status, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM -
Strong technical background in program management and the scrum framework

Capable of rapid absorption of new subject matter across technical, business and market specific domains

Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional Internet software/services projects to successful completion

Demonstrated ownership and accountability of results in an end-to-end project lifecycle

Ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner

Ability to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities

Must be mature, exercise high judgment, be a relationship builder, be decisive, and employ negotiation skills to influence and get the job done

Proficiency at leveraging precious resources and a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

Demonstrated ability to form and manage cross-organization virtual teams

Well-rounded technical background in current web/database technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Cassandra etc.)

Experience with web services and mobile platforms

Experience in the mobile and Big Data world

Experience with Agile software development principles and methodologies

Agile scrum master certification required

Communicate effectively with both business and Technical audiences

BS or equivalent degree in computer science or related field

10+ years relevant work experience in software development

Ability to thrive in a dynamic and challenging work environment.

Able to set goals and achieve scheduled deadlines

Background as a software developer or software test engineer

Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence

Knowledge of open source software platforms and tools
