POSITION SUMMARY:North American Breweries, home of the Genesee Brewing Company is seeking a QC Technician to work overnights in the Rochester location. This position involves checking product and packaging at various stages of production and verifying the proper operation of testing equipment to specifications. In addition, this position will involve recording and interpreting data, producing reports, and initiating follow up actions as indicated. This position will also be assigned other various tasks as needed to support ongoing projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Using and maintaining laboratory and other testing equipment
- Collection of samples
- Data entry and reporting
- Initiating follow up and corrective actions as necessary
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs,) properly wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and follow all safety and company policies at all times
- Perform other duties as required
- Basic knowledge of science or engineering
- Basic laboratory skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Communication skills – verbal and written
- Engineering or Packaging Science experience or degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years related experience
- Must be able to work day, evening, night or overnight shift; may include overtime, holidays and weekends
- Frequent walking and stair climbing while carrying samples is required
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push, pull, climb, crawl, stoop, kneel and bend
- Moderate to high noise levels
- Exposure indoors in a factory, outdoors on property
- Ability work in extreme fluctuation of temperature and working environments including hot/muggy and cold temperatures inside as well as varying outside temperatures and seasons.
