Financial Analyst

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
- Contribute to the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process through financial modeling, budget system input, and assumptions gathering process
- Collaborate with business unit leaders across the organization to understand the key drivers behind financial performance and develop assumptions for new forecasts
- Utilize and help maintain the Oracle EPM and ERP software systems for ongoing budget / forecast and General Ledger analysis, as well as report building using Smart View
- Report on financial performance, budget variance analysis, and prepare presentations for regular leadership reviews
- Support the quarterly earnings process with key analysis such as quarter-over-quarter / year-over-year trend explanations and calculations of performance ratios, including ROAE, ROAA, and NIM
- Generate reporting and analysis of internal Silvergate projections against external consensus estimates, especially relating to EPS and key P/L drivers
- Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
- Work closely with the accounting team to enhance analysis of actuals reporting
- Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
- Maintain current knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations, along with the Company’s policies and procedures
- Not to harm consumers with any act that could be misleading, unfair, deceptive, or abusive in act or practice

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related business field is required
- 3+ years’ of finance, accounting, banking or other relevant experience
- Experience with Oracle Hyperion / EPM Essbase and ERP
- Proficiency in financial modeling techniques
- Understanding of key accounting concepts
- Strong analytical and data gathering skills
- Fluency with Excel formulas and functions
- Sound business acumen
- CFA / CPA / Master’s in Finance or Accounting is a plus
BANK SECRECY ACT
Responsible for adhering to the reporting and recordkeeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, observing economic sanctions by prohibiting transactions as specified by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), following the bank’s customer identification program (CIP) rules, observing all Bank policies and procedures relating to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and related acts, and participation in ongoing related training.
