Senior Designer, Content & Events
The Senior Designer, Content & Events is responsible for driving creativity through graphic design, art direction and production for print, digital, interactive, and live events. First and foremost, this person ensures brand consistency across all creative marketing deliverables. Reporting to the creative director in the brand pillar of Quad’s marketing organization, this role works closely with a wide variety of marketing team members and leaders to develop and produce a variety of marketing collateral, advertising concepts and digital and print materials, but especially long-form content and visual storytelling formats.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applying a brand’s visual system in content-driven designs across all channels. Additionally, as a designer, they are well-versed in contemporary aesthetic approaches and advanced print and digital production.
Responsibilities
- Champion both design and design process by presenting your work cross-functionally and effectively articulating design rationale
- Ability to work alongside our team and creative director to develop a branded positioning and visual guidelines, especially for content-rich applications and spaces, and apply them in the varied and engaging ways
- Liaising with broader marketing and brand teams, particularly operations, content strategy and events, to ensure objectives are met on budget and deadline
- Deep understanding of executing projects with a high level of thoughtfulness and professionalism
- Conceptualize, produce and present the design for content, websites, event activations, print, and digital formats
- Ensure consistency of brand and creative across outputs
- Manage the end-to-end experience design for events, from project set up, to physical and collateral design and development across varied and highly visible initiatives
- Turn insights from data analytics and research into tangible design concepts
- Identify design process gaps or inefficiencies and collaborate with project team leads and marketing leadership to contribute to improvements
- Help cultivate a strong design culture within the larger organization
Desired Skills
- 10+ years of experience in design and production in an agency, brand, or publishing environment
- Portfolio of existing work demonstrating print and digital design, particularly complex and varied content and/or event work
- Advanced knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud, including but not limited to Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and XD
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office 365, particularly (but not limited to) Word and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of project management software (Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, etc)
- Working knowledge of UX principles and UI design
- Experience adapting and working effectively in an ambiguous environment
- Ability to work with global teams across time zones as needed
- Ability to travel as needed
