Givebutter is looking for a Director of Finance to be the first internal hire to own all key finance operations, including FP&A, accounting, tax, and corporate strategy. The Director of Finance will serve on Givebutter’s Leadership Team and report directly to the CEO, Max Friedman. This person should be a hands-on, strategic leader that is comfortable performing both day-to-day and high-level work. This role will also oversee some business and legal operations, and partner closely with every department–especially the People team—to help establish and exceed company goals.

- Can help establish and lead the goal-setting + follow-through process itself
- Have been part of a company as it scaled from 0-50 to 200+ employees
- Want to partner closely with a Founder/CEO, Leadership, Investors, and Board of Directors
Responsibilities
- Lead FP&A, including budgeting, people planning, and financial reporting to company stakeholders, Leadership, and the Board
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including the month-end close process and preparation of all financial statements (~10 hrs/mo currently)
- Oversee federal and state compliance for tax purposes
- Create and lead a framework for aligning business goals to forecasts and vice-versa
- Review standard legal contracts, work with Givebutter’s external legal counsel, and serve as Givebutter’s primary contact for general legal matters
- Manage business operations as needed, including payroll administration, expense approvals, reimbursements, and insurance
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance roles
- Experience working at a FinTech, payments, e-commerce, or SaaS company
- Experience modeling revenue and KPIs for freemium, usage/consumption, and/or payments-based business models is preferred
