Director, Strategic Finance

The Calm Strategic Finance team provides executive leadership with timely and unbiased analysis and insights to inform critical business decisions for the company.  The team has high visibility with Calm’s senior executives and the Senior Director will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the success of the company.

In this role, you will play a key role in determining Calm’s long-term capital strategy and be the go-to source at Calm for complicated financial analyses that ensure the company most effectively allocates its internal resources during rapid scaling.  You will support strategic decision making at the highest level.

  • Develop and own the Calm’s long-range financial model and actively help shape the company’s strategic direction
  • Lead and perform financial analyses for a variety of strategic decisions, including M&A, strategic investments, partnerships and capital market transactions
  • Provide recommendations to executive management based on both financial and strategic implications of investment decisions. Identify business drivers and risks and present these to executive management
  • Construct detailed ad-hoc analyses (scenario modeling, sensitivity analyses, and contingency planning) to support the internal investment decision-making process
  • Work closely with the CFO on investor relations and help to facilitate future investor due diligence processes
  • Play a significant role in the preparation of corporate board materials and reporting

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (MBA preferred)
  • 8-10+ years of strategic finance/operational finance experience, with a requirement of at least 5 years of investment banking or private equity experience, preferably at the Vice President level
  • Relevant professional experience in a financial planning/strategic advisory/operations analysis role
  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills preferably from M&A or Private Equity transaction execution experience
  • In-depth knowledge of financial statement analysis
  • Strong theoretical understanding of corporate finance concepts such DCF and other valuation methodologies
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask, and deliver under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated individual who is results oriented without losing sight of the big picture
  • Proven ability to work well in teams and develop strong rapport with senior and executive management
  • Strong interpersonal skills, presentation skills and demonstrated managerial abilities
  • Experience with high growth companies preferred
