We are looking for a strong leader to grow our employee relations function within Medallia’s People & Culture (HR) team. The Senior Employee Relations Manager will advise and assist Medallia Human Resource Business Partners and managers with complex employee relations investigations and consultations.  This position will also partner cross-functionally to help consult on international HR policy in the EMEA region.  This is an individual contributor position.

This opportunity is flexible to be remote or based in our London office, reporting directly to the Director of Employee Relations, HR Policy, & Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct grievance and employee relations investigations in a timely, thorough, and impartial manner, including clear and organized documentation and recommendations aligned with Medallia policy and applicable law.
  • Rigorously track and analyze employee relations data.
  • Make proactive recommendations based on data and experience to reduce future employee relations concerns and facilitate positive employee experience.
  • Partner closely with employment legal, outside counsel, and HRBPs to provide consultation on employment law and HR policy related topics, including on-call work, disciplinary proceedings, involuntary separations, sensitive performance management issues, and compliance with employment related laws and regulations.
  • In partnership with HRBP team, project manage implementation of new country-specific HR policies and practices.
  • Participate in projects regionally and internationally as requested as we continue to scale and grow in the EMEA and APAC regions

Experience Required

  • 5+ years experience in an Employee Relations, HR Business Partner or equivalent role covering EMEA region
  • Experience with employment law, complex employment advising, and knowledge of employment best practices
  • Ability to efficiently handle and organize multiple cases at a time in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to handle confidential information in a mature and professional manner
  • Demonstrates solid judgment and experience assessing risk relative to the business need
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to independently manage projects from ideation to implementationCommitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB)
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally and across time-zones
