Medallia is looking for a Director of Product Design to manage a team and lead design strategy across Medallia’s portfolio of Products. Over the last 10 years, Medallia has evolved from a single product company to a portfolio of 10+ product lines, including several which came to Medallia through acquisitions. As Director of Product Design, you will manage the balance between individual brand identity for each pillar, while also ensuring a high level of consistency and cohesion across all Medallia products. From time to time you will put your product hat on to help drive innovation through integrations across our portfolio to maximize our competitive differentiation. You will be directly responsible for the quality and output of our portfolio design team and have a high level of visibility from our product executives and C-Suite.

Role and Responsibilities

• Drive innovation across Medallia’s product portfolio, incorporating industry trends but balancing them with our Alchemy Design System
• Operational and creative management of Medallia’s portfolio products , ensuring all current and future needs are organized and developing a prioritization framework for inbound work
• Facilitate alignment across design, product, and engineering, and introduce new or improved operational ideas or processes where needed
• Manage work and accountability of your direct reports, deeply understanding the roadmap and backlog across Medallia’s portfolio of products
• Alignment with your peer design directors to understand how current work may overlap and find opportunities for alignment
• Review of in progress / completed design work

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ Years experience working in high performance design organizations
• 3+ years of people management experience
• Experience driving operational excellence and success pitching new concepts, managing stakeholders relationships, and managing tight timelines
• Collaborative not competitive approach to work

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years experience working in tech / product organizations
• Experience working on companywide design systems
• Experience working on enterprise / SaaS software
• Experience managing design sprints
