Sr. Associate, Email Marketing

The Sr. Associate, Email Marketing will develop, produce, and distribute editorial content, video content, and marketing campaigns through email that engages subscribers and increases retention. As a member of the Growth Marketing team, the Sr. Associate, Email Marketing will also develop campaigns focused on the day to day experience of subscribers, growing the current subscriber list in innovative ways, and recommending additional newsletters based on insights from segmentation, clicks, and content type. This position is perfect for an email marketer interested in an array of subjects, including travel, pop culture, lifestyle, fintech, and podcasting, who also has a propensity for conducting tests and making data-led performance improvements. Email Copywriting experience, a plus.
This role will report directly to the Director of Audience Development and Social.
Responsibilities
- Leading the construction, management, and scheduling of email templates and the segmentation of the customer database using in house CRM tools.
- Implement relevant performance metrics and analytics to measure campaign effectiveness/ROI and make data-driven decisions
- Develop and implement high-impact A/B testing to improve demand generation initiatives
- Inform, support, and optimize lifecycle marketing communications
- Manage ongoing testing regimen (subject lines, layout, format, frequency, etc.) to continuously improve email performance focused on user engagement
- Create and manage campaigns to re-engage audiences.
- Reporting and analysis using ESP and Google Analytics
- Share campaigns performance and insights with greater internal team
- Manage and optimize email marketing lists and segmentation
- Work closely with our Creative and Production teams to deliver engaging global marketing campaigns on time.
Qualifications
- Education: Preferred BA/BS or relevant work experience
- Required Experience: 2-5 years creating, producing, and executing email programs for a brand or creative agency
- Preferred Experience: Copywriting; Working in Consulting, Media, or related high-growth start-up
- Technologies: Fluent in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Asana, and/or comparable project management suite. Plus if you have experience with Mailchimp and Google Analytics tracking
- Additional Qualifications:
- Able to parse, segment, and analyze data in Google Analytics
- Experience working with a creative team and suggesting UX design improvements
- Creative mindset that understands what Black audiences consume on the web and via email
- Ability to analyze traffic and engagement metrics and use data to make creative decisions
- Strong judgment and the ability to make decisions independently
- Technical knowledge of the latest digital marketing tools and channels, including marketing automation platforms
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain and deliver insights and recommendations
Details: This is a fully remote role. Candidates must be able to work at least 50% in alignment to Pacific Time Zone.
