The Senior Product Manager is obsessed with customers and trying to figure out how to create software that makes their life easier. This is role aligns strategy and brings insights and vision to teams of engineers.
You will be working across functional groups, sales, and program management as well and keeping senior managers informed while they give you the support you need to make a mark. Output like roadmaps, deliverables, and stories matter, but outcomes, i.e. how many teachers and students’ lives did you impact matter most!
LOCATION: Remote – US
Responsibilities:
- With guidance from the Product Owner, clearly state the product vision, hypothesized value to customers, key features, and design principles.
- Create product roadmap that is transparent to all levels of the School Assessment organization.
- In collaboration with the Product Owner, develop the overall product plan including deliverables, milestone dates, and resource needs. Update plan in real-time, as needed, and communicate to all internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate the integration of the product with partner products and business groups within the larger organization.
- Support the creation of business cases for required investment on product, including collecting costs.
- Illustrate market problems in a “story” that puts the problem in context. Use scenarios are one component of requirements.
- Serve as a checkpoint along the way to provide context and clarification to development.
- Work with Marketing and Proposals to ensure that product collateral and documentation is accurate.
- Support Sales and Contract Management with product value proposition and implementation training that is client-specific.
- Prepare and manage implementation and training supports for successful product use, including documentation, guides, and videos, both internal and client-facing.
Education and Experience:
- 1-2 years of related industry or functional experience in Educational Technology Product Management. Experience developing K-12 academic assessment products preferred.
- Bachelor’s in Education or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in an Agile development
- Experience using project and product management software
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Superior verbal and written communication skills; superior presentation skills
- Superior inter-personal skills with all levels, including senior management
- Knowledge of the K-12 assessment landscape and competitive products
- Strong attention to detail
- Time management, planning, and project management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
