Lead Designer, Magazine

The Angi Magazine design team creates content and advertising designs for over 90+ markets across the nation for both print and digital mediums. We are a small team with big goals of serving both consumers and professionals in the home-industry arena.

We’re looking for a highly motivated and talented Lead Designer with experience creating print advertising focused on magazine layout in a multiple deadline environment. You like to work fast but have a high attention to detail and a strong understanding of the importance of hitting deadlines.

What you’ll do

• Responsible for designing magazine layouts for both print and digital, as well graphic elements for digital content
• Brainstorm and participate in the creation of Angi magazine story ideas with other designers and writers
• Lead and collaborate with team to evolve styles, palettes, templates, and other visual elements for the Angi magazine brand
• Prepare files from concept through production, using the Wood Wing Studio workflow system
• Deliver excellent work on deadline
• Maintain a thorough understanding of cutting-edge design trends

Who you are

• Design skills: You have4+ years of magazine design experience, high proficiency in design tools (such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Figma) and knowledge of WoodWing Studio is a bonus.
• Efficient & productive: Is detail oriented, able to prioritize, and meet multiple deadlines while delivering outstanding, infallible designs.
• Excellent communicator: You communicate clearly and provide helpful feedback to the team. You’re not afraid to provide valuable critiques and help elevate team members’ designs.
• High ownership: You can work independently or within the team to make sure all deadlines are met.
• High initiative: You are an ambitious go-getter who takes initiative without being asked and over-delivers on your promises.
• Innovative: You are constantly challenging yourself to improve and grow. Responsible for contributing to the development of creative visual communications that strengthen brand identity.
• Teamwork & positive attitude: You work collaboratively with a positive and can-do approach to opportunities and challenges to get the right things done quickly.

Compensation & Benefits

• The salary band for this position ranges from $60,000-$70,000 commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living. 
• This position will be eligible for a competitive year end performance bonus & equity package.
