Boulevard is looking for a Director of Fintech to join its growing Finance team. This person will be responsible for reviewing Boulevard’s Payments policies, procedures and operational functions to find areas of improvement, optimize operational functions, and set service level expectations. This person will also be responsible for understanding the applicable laws, regulations, and rules that apply to the operational areas and ensuring the proper controls are in place to ensure compliance, develop and help roll out new financial products, payment services, backend automations, policies, and best practices.

What you’ll do here:

  • Creates a winning operational culture, managing day to day operational functions performed by an engaged set of team members.
  • Reviews, analyzes and evaluates business procedures to comply with applicable regulations, laws, and rules.
  • Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations
  • Work with a development team to build out a vision and strategy for the department including okrs and kpis for each team.
  • Identifies data trends and makes recommendations for quality improvement.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to identify new process improvement opportunities in technical quality, cost, performance, evaluate and analyze current process metrics, and performance to identify areas requiring improvements.
  • Works with external business partners to improve operational processes and manages the relationship with these partners from an operations perspective.
  • Develop process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity, prepare and present project proposal presentations at the executive level for approval, and prioritization when needed
  • Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
  • Work with the managers to properly execute effective training on new directives, policies, and procedures
  • Manage recovery and revenue, recoupling fees, and avoiding loss.
  • Work with other departments in the company such as product, finance, risk and compliance, and business development to influence and support their initiatives.
  • Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
  • Leads coordination and integration of operations, engineering, technology, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.

Why you’ll thrive:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or business administration is preferable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in eCommerce, FinTech or Banking Payments.
  • Knowledge: Operational knowledge of the payments functions (pay-ins, pay-outs, flow of funds, etc), and ability to understand industry and regulatory changes and assess impact and vital changes needed to support the evolving payments landscape. History of working with legal and compliance functions.
  • Systems: Familiarity with financial planning tools (e.g. Adaptive, Anaplan, Planful), Salesforce, ERPs and an advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Detailed: Experience in a high-growth enterprise software environment; capable of prioritizing and executing on many projects at once
  • Expert Communicator: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written – proven ability to effectively translate technical information to non-technical individuals
