As a CAD Designer at Density, you’ll play a critical role on our Solutions team as we plan customer implementations. As our customers provide us documents for their workplaces (floorplans, 3D models, ceiling plans, door schedules, lighting plans), you’ll use your knowledge of modeling technologies and our Density sensors to advise on the best sensor placements to deliver our customers valuable and insightful data.

At Density, you’ll quickly earn the trust of the solution team members and become a subject matter expert. You’ll be reviewing their project proposals and looking for the 1% value-add. You’ll be driving towards a team KPI and looking for wins that can improve team performance and team metrics.

You’ll coach your teammates on best practices, identifying unique use cases, communicating ideas on customer calls, and documenting successes and wins that can be carried forward to future projects.

In this role you will:

  • Become a subject matter expert of both our sensors: Entry and Open Area
  • Review floorplans, and Navigate 3D models in Revit & AutoCAD to analyze environmental conditions to determine sensor placement
  • Be a resource for your team members on best practice sensor placement
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Installation, and Project Validation teams to ensure deliverables are on-time
  • Own customer communication regarding deployment plans
  • Be an active participant in customer calls to advise on best practices
  • Own the solution design through the life of the project

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be able to read, navigate, and edit a floorplan in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Be able to prepare complex construction drawings for commercial projects utilizing Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Be a trusted advisor, people naturally gravitate towards you for advice
  • Have exceptional organization skills and version control process––able to maintain storage, retrieval, and revision of drawings
  • Have a general knowledge of building codes
  • Be a self-starter; able to work independently without supervision
  • Be creative and open to solving problems with many solutions
  • Be flexible and willing to think outside the box
  • Consistently and successfully meet deadlines
  • Able to handle a high volume of work and prioritize ruthlessly
  • Be a team player and able to share ideas.
  • Be polished and professional in front of customers and partners, especially in high-pressure situations
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Always stay positive, even when stuff gets messy
  • Communicate well and be willing to escalate when something doesn’t seem right
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Develop and maintain design best practices in accordance with changing design standards

The icing on the cake:

  • Understand the difference between POE & POE+, IDF & MDF rooms and other network-related items
  • Advanced knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction techniques, construction documents, and CAD concepts. General knowledge of building codes.
