Job Description

The incumbent of this position performs secretarial, clerical, and administrative support in order to ensure efficient and effective operation.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists with processing new or renegotiated managed care contracting including completion of forms, gathering ancillary documentation, copying and mailing within timeframes.

  • Utilizes credentialing software to complete credentialing packets for employees for managed care contracting, track status per contract, compile database of employee licensure and dates for license renewals, and send requests for copies of current licenses to appropriate staff.

  • Assists in identifying areas in need of quality improvement with priority focus on improvement.

  • Responsible for filing of all managed care correspondence, files, credentialing forms, notes, and copies of contracts and any other managed care information received in hard copy.

  • Responsible for requesting individual provider numbers from Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement entities either through written requests or electronic submission via the Internet.

  • Demonstrates interest in long term and short term goals and objectives of the company.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Vice President, Managed Care Director, and Credentialing Specialist.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preference for Healthcare Management, Business Admin, or Medical Billing OR four years experience in a healthcare or insurance setting.

  • Exceptional knowledge and skill in clerical administration.

  • Strong skills working with Microsoft Office Applications including, but not limited to Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse workforce.

  • Highly detail oriented, skilled in accuracy.

  • Ability to work with information in a confidential manner.
