Job Description
The Director of Sales is responsible for all sales and partnering with the revenue management team at three individual properties. They will be responsible for each property’s reactive and proactive sales efforts to meet or exceed each of the hotels budget goals.
Essential Duties / Tasks / Responsibilities
- Monitor the Revenue pace of Sales in order to sell into those periods that require increased pace.
- Reviews the STAR report, competitive shop reports and uses other resources to maintain an awareness of the hotel’s position in the market.
- Work cooperatively with property Revenue Manager to establish strategic goals for attaining budgets and surpassing prior year revenues
- Handles telemarketing, prospecting/qualifying potential leads, soliciting viable leads, RFP’s, and preparing/presenting written proposals/contracts and oral presentations.
- Assist in compiling sales forecasts, collecting/reporting sales data and managing the departmental budget.
- Develop specific target lists for local/national account solicitation.
- Develops a strong presence in the local community to further increase hotel/brand awareness. CVB, Chamber of Commerce etc.
- Participate in leadership meetings with property managers and above property Executive team.
- Ensures a seamless turnover from sales to operations while consistently delivering a high standard of service and guest satisfaction.
- Perform other duties assigned to meet business needs.
Experience / Education / Certifications:
- 2-5 years of hotel sales experience along with hotel management experience within other disciplines is highly preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and have the ability to drive is required.
- Background check and drug test as part of hiring process is required.
