Associate Director, Office of SVP
Brandeis University - a nationally ranked university renowned for its academic excellence and ground-breaking research - seeks a talented and experienced stewardship professional to serve as the Associate Director in the office of the Senior Vice President, Institutional Advancement.
The University's Institutional Advancement (IA) Division is dedicated to building strong, lasting relationships with the institution’s various constituencies, as well as to broadening the University’s base of support and securing the financial resources necessary for Brandeis to continue achieving excellence in teaching, research and scholarship. IA is committed to serving the academic and intellectual agenda of the University and to creating a culture of philanthropy across the Brandeis community.
The Associate Director will support the development and execution of multi-step stewardship plans for donors and prospects in the SVP's prospect portfolio, as well as others identified from time to time by the SVP, the Special Assistant, or the Director of Donor Relations. The work of the Associate Director is critical to successful relationship building with and cultivation of these principal and major gift prospects, helping to ensure ongoing financial support for the University.
Examples of Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and support the SVP in executing action plans for an identified pool of constituents designed to foster closer ties to the University and to increase their involvement with and financial support of Brandeis.
- Identify and research University programs, priorities, and initiatives that are consistent with the interests and priorities of the priority constituent pool, and pro-actively prepare and distribute correspondence to constituents to keep them informed and engaged.
- Work with the Special Assistant to develop system(s) to routinely identify and compose needed correspondence responsive to constituent life events including but not limited to: condolences, letters of congratulations, recognition of professional and personal achievements, and personalized gift acknowledgment letters
- Assist in preparing briefings for meetings or events
- Ensure recordkeeping of all necessary events and documents
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus 3 years relevant experience
Creative and talented communicator - written and verbal
Effective problem solver
Collaborative approach to work
