As a Sr. Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
Execute accounting transactions for the North America business, in accordance with GAAP, ensuring transactions are accurate and properly stated. Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes as required.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements to ensure accurate expenditure data is available for the US/Canadian business as required.
Prepare and provide financial information for internal/external audits, ensuring information is accurate and timely.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure internal control polices are being followed.
Book journal entries as required and ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with applicable standards.
Perform monthly BPC actual’s submission to corporate, ensuring information is properly recorded and validated
Preparation of financial statements in accordance with FAS 58
Perform account analysis and other projects as requested by manager.
Identify, initiate and develop system changes with information technology to improve the availability of financial information, minimizing disruption during implementation and creating efficiencies.
Ensure Desk Top Procedures (DTP’s) are written and current for all job functions and that they comply with internal control policies.
Conduct process reviews to identify improvements to enhance the quality of financial reporting. Lead the implementation of improvements identified through this process
Develop strong working relationship with Corporate management team and provide quality and timely financial analysis data and financial information to Management team upon request.
Train and develop new staff in the department as needed
Qualified Candidate will have:
4+ years of significant experience in financial analysis, reporting, accounting or auditing within a multinational environment and public companies.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA a plus
SAP and BPC experience a plus
Significant relevant experience in fast paced accounting department
Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze financial statements
Proficient in monthly general ledger closing process and consolidations
Demonstrated ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and make and support decisions to resolve problems and take advantage of opportunities.
Proven proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite Software Programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc)
