Job Description
AECOM Global Oil & Gas is seeking a highly talented Project Controls Planning and Scheduling Analyst. This is a home office position located in Houston, Texas.The Project Controls Planning and Scheduling Analyst job family is responsible for supporting project team and/or proposal team by developing and maintaining project planning and scheduling activities throughout project life-cycle i.e. engineering, procurement/materials management, construction, commissioning/start up and operations. Project controls provides the tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on cost and schedule for concurrent projects throughout the organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Services include planning, cost and schedule (work breakdown structure) metrics and tools, collecting performance data (installed quantities, expended labor hours, and other progress measurements for direct hire and subcontract work), tracking data (daily cost compilation and monitoring), analyzing (earned value, productivity and risk analysis), and reporting.
Identifies and tracks all changes or potential changes to the project scope, ensuring estimates of cost changes and schedule impact are given visibility with the client and project management.
Integrates cost and schedule data and reporting with the company’s accounting and management information systems to facilitate meeting company performance and financial goals.
May also be involved in change control management, document control management, and critical path method network analysis.
Technical Skills
Investigates causes of variances between planned and earned/actual progress and recommends solutions or recovery plans.
Measures progress and reviews performance trends.
Understands and applies fundamental schedule control techniques and the relationship between project revenue and cost.
Possesses strong computer skills with developing knowledge of company cornerstone applications.
Logically organizes the workflow and makes judgments on durations and resources to accomplish the work.
Certification: Pursuit of the PSP (Planning and Scheduling Professional) and/or PMP (Project Management Professional), EVP (Earned Value Professional), CCC (Certified Cost Consultant), CCE (Certified Cost Engineer), ICC (Interim Cost Consultant), or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification is encouraged.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience.
Experience:
+ Entrants to this position require 4 years of experience in engineering, procurement and construction projects or operating industrial facilities in a planning and scheduling position.
+ Demonstrated, highly skilled in the use of Primavera P6 planning & scheduling software
+ Capable of working independently with minimum guidance
+ Candidate must be willing and able to travel up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications
+ Past experience of working in Oil & Gas / EPC industry (fabrication, pipelines/mechanical projects, O&M projects, etc.)
+ Previous working experience in the Mechanical/ Pipeline Construction as a project controls professional
+ Industry certifications: Planning Scheduling Professional (PSP) through AACE International and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute
