JOB
TITLE: RECEPTIONIST-Check In CFO

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES : To represent Imperial Health in a
courteous, efficient and friendly manner by receiving patients all patients to
the Center for Orthopaedics office.

ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS :
1.
Greets
and checks in patients in a courteous and friendly manner.

2.
Obtains
updated insurance cards and identification cards as needed upon arrival.

3.
Ensures
that insurance verification specialist has verified each patients insurance and
that the insurance is active.

4.
Directs
patient to the vitals station when vital signs are necessary.

5.
Ensures
that the patient updates his/her registration in Phreesia according to Imperial
Health guidelines.

6. Advises and directs patients, including
walk-ins, appearing at the front

desk about registration procedures

7.
While Checking patients in, monitors charts for credit status of delinquent

Accounts or surgery deposits required
and directs them to appropriate business office personnel.

8.
Respect and maintain the privacy and dignity of patients and family members.

9.
Responsible for the readiness of the reception area for each working day. Have all front desk activities fully
operational at the start of business.

10.
Assist patients in accurately completing appropriate forms, Phreesia and all
documents required.

11.
At the end of the day ensure that the reception area is clean and make sure all
chairs in the waiting area are aligned properly and the gate is closed.

12.
Performs all other tasks as assigned by manager.

KNOWLEDGE:
1. Knowledge
of computers

3. Knowledge of medical terminology

EDUCATION
REQUIREMENTS : High School diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE : Previous
medical office experience preferred but not required.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING
CONDITIONS : Office setting.
Busy clinics with many patients, calls and other interruptions, which
requires being able to handle a fast-paced work environment during entire time
at work. Must be able to prioritize
multiple projects. Must maintain strict
confidentiality and exercise professionalism when interacting with staff,
managers, supervisors, physicians, external customers, etc.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL
DEMANDS : requires continuous standing, sitting, frequent
walking, bending, and stooping. May
require lifting 50 to 100 pounds.
Exposure to possible Hazardous Materials/conditions and infectious
diseases.
