LPN/Medical Assistant
Heart Specialty Associates is a busy, state-of-the art cardiology practice and they are in search of an experienced medical assistant or LPN to join their team.
Responsible for assisting the physician with the examination, procedures, and testing of patients in order to provide optimal patient care and to maximize the time of the providers. Responsible for all prepatory duties to provider seeing patient and all other duties necessary to support the back end of a medical office. Follows established guidelines for infection control with particular reference to sterilization of instruments, handling of blood and other body fluids, and disposal of hazardous waste; must follow OSHA and CLIA standards at all times. Maintains the patient's right to privacy and is kind, courteous, sympathetic, understanding, and professional with all patients and staff.
Alos assists with EKGs, Holter Monitors and Event Monitors.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program certified by the State of Missouri required or an accredited LPN Program. Must be a Registered Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Missouri. Current BLS certification required.
Ideal candidates for this position must have excellent phone & customer service skills, attention to detail, and solid computer skills. Must have interest and aptitude to learn cardiology if candidate does not have cardiology experience.
Preference for candidates with EMR experience, and prior experience in a cardiology, internal medicine or family medicine practice.
