Food Manager in Training Southern Arkansas

Job Description

Opaa! Food Management specializes in serving the nutritional needs of K-12 school districts. We partner with our school districts to tailor a child nutrition program that meets a local community's needs.

Due to anticipated growth, we are hiring across the Region of Southern Arkansas for food service managers to join our training program for a placement in a school district upon completion. This training program will require a relocation for your assignment.

Director Training Program and Job Description:

The Director in Training role is a tiered training program designed to create leaders within the organization. As part of the training program, you will become certified in managing kitchen operations, leading teams, and executing administrative functions. Upon completion, you will be assigned your own school district to manage.

Responsibilities of Food Service Director in Training include:

• Recruit, hire, and retain high functioning kitchen teams
• Train, coach, and develop team members
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with school district administration and staff
• Supervise the production and service of breakfast and lunch meals and special events
• Purchasing food and supplies, managing inventory, and maintaining a strong cost management environment
• Maintaining a safe work environment
• Compliance with federal, state and local regulations

Qualifications and requirements:

• Must be relocatable : Candidates will be training at selected districts and then will be assigned their own school district
• Bachelor's degree in any academic major OR High school diploma (or GED) andat least 3 years of relevant experience in Food Service management
• Possess a Can Do-Will Do Attitude, a Servant’s Heart, and are ready to have Fun with a Purpose
