Job Description
Role:
The Field Service Technician will provide hands on technical and operational support of our equipment and supporting systems within our customers facilities. This includes installation, service, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support functions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Field Service Site Technician in the capacity of technical and mechanical services in customer facilities as directed.
In the role of Field Service Technician, you will:
- Perform all work as necessary to conform to quality, security and safety control guidelines includes compliance with requirements outlined
- Plan and execute site installation activities given customer restraints
- Act as a matter expert in the troubleshooting and resolution of customer concerns
- Make recommendations to the customer to resolve operational situations
- Use Good Work Place Practices to diagnose, and correct deficiencies in operation of equipment.
- Perform testing and diagnostics of systems
- Utilize and become proficient with tasks, tools, test equipment and information that will enhance business results
- Lead troubleshooting/problem solving activities to resolve customer and corporate issues
- Integrate various company services with customer's equipment
- Escalate unresolved customer issues to supervisor
- Attend training, safety, and operational meetings as required
- Learn, share, and implement best resolutions practices with the customers both internal and externally
- Establish and cultivate working relationships with customers both internal and external
- Manage site activities such as safety initiatives, recommendations, and best work place practices
- Educate customer on proper use of services and equipment, including channel lineups, and how to access online help
- Adhere to industry specific, local, state and federal regulations, as applicable
- Know, understand and follow company policy

- Operate Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner. Clean, maintain, stock, and secure assigned vehicle and equipment, in accordance with company policies
- Operate communications device in accordance with company policies
- Maintain accurate records including time worked, daily logs, gas sheets as required; properly record all required information on data devices and/or work orders
- Monitor critical operating variables (inventory, vehicle, misc. supplies, etc.)
- Performing manual tasks such as: bending, reaching, standing, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., stooping, or maneuvering to accomplish the task
- Inspection of equipment to ensure safe operations
- Drive to and from customer locations, reporting of all work performed and pertinent information
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in dealing with all customers internal and external at all times
- Report and Communicate with Fresh Water and customers in an honest and professional manner of all services and situations
- Accomplish department and organization goals
- Understand customer needs and requirements
- Clean the premises of all debris and materials after the installation is complete
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge:
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
- Ability to use the following hand tools electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers and other hand tools as necessary
- Ability to walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment, ladders, and tool carriers
- Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (such as safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of that equipment
- Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices
- Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder
- Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of tubing and piping
- Ability to make connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting
- Ability to perform job from high places (i.e. drop ceilings)
- Ability to work while standing, stooping, or elevated
- Ability to work with small components
- Ability to use handheld communication devices and applications
- Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories and company facilities
- Ability to work outside/inside in any season and/or during inclement weather
- Familiarity with computer operating systems, and a myriad of consumer communications devices (e.g., PDAs, smartphones, and wireless devices)
- Ability to complete documentation accurately
Certifications and/or Licenses:
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within Company required standards
- Acceptable background check
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
Working Conditions:
- This position works face to face with customers
- Work indoors in confined space, poorly ventilated areas such as under cabinets, drop ceilings, attics, basements and/or crawlspaces
- Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, rodents, pets, and cleaning solutions
- Work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night as required by business needs
- Work performed at various heights above ground (i.e.: drop ceiling areas)
- Work and travel in inclement weather
- Occasionally required to work overtime as the business needs dictate
- Ability to work weekends or a second shift as the business needs dictate
