Job Description

Aggieland Tutoring is a college level tutoring company offering private 1-on-1 tutoring to college students in the Bryan/College Station area. We provide college students with the necessary tools and resources to be successful in all their academic endeavors.

We need tutors with the ability to communicate their subject matter in a variety of ways in order to meet a wide range of learning styles. Communication is a vital part of this job so we require our tutors to be fluent in the English language.

We want our students to love learning as much as we do, so we are looking for highly intelligent individuals who know how to create a fun and relaxed environment. Applicants should also able to notice and understand the needs of each individual student and effectively teach the material to the student at the level needed.

It is imperative that you understand the following prior to applying:

  • Just because you took a class and did well does not mean you are able to tutor it at the level we are expecting.
  • IF your ability to speak and understand the English language is in any way questionable, you should not apply.
  • You should be able to teach (in extreme detail and in many different ways) any and every randomly selected question from a class/textbook prior to considering the course as something you can tutor. This includes having a full working knowledge of any programming languages required for the course (MATLAB, Maple, LabVIEW, etc.)
  • Our tutors are independent contractors, not employees. You will set your own schedule in our scheduling system and students will book with you based on your availability and course list. You will be compensated for the tutoring hours you complete not on your availability.

The subject areas we are currently most interested in include (but are not limited to):

  • Accounting
