Hours: 35 hours/week, Sunday - Thursday (flexible schedule) Provides spiritual care including individual pastoral care for all residents and resident family members to address resident's spiritual needs. Helps ensure appropriate worship and Bible study opportunities are available to all residents. Helps ensure sacramental ministries are provided. Standing member and participant in all GSS Way Committee meetings and activities, ensures development of spiritual life programs and works with community clergy. Invites and encourages staff to participate in spiritual life of the location and encourages and empowers them through spiritual care remaining available to staff for pastoral care as needed and referring to appropriate resources. Documents visits and care provided to residents. Works collaboratively with others in ensuring the meeting of resident's spiritual needs.
Qualifications
A graduate of an accredited School of Theology with the Association of Theological Schools (seminary or equivalent) with a Master of Divinity or a Master of Theology degree. Previous and extensive pastoral experience preferred; sound Christian background in mainline Christian theology necessary.
Genuine compassion for the aged and/or population served by the location is necessary; demonstrated good moral character; ecumenical outlook. Must be a member in good standing of a recognized mainline Christian denomination; must be endorsed or affirmed for ministry by denomination.
Completion of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent preferred.
