HB Cornerstone Partners LLC is in search of a CAD Drafter/ Designer (internally referred to as a Project Coordinator) to prepare clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes for engineering or manufacturing purposes, according to specified dimensions by Computer Aided Design (CAD) system. Will use CAD equipment to provide support to architect by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, & diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for construction. The drafter will make simple decisions but refers most questions/problems to architect or Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Make necessary drawing changes as directed by architect, redline corrections, update and edit project specifications and notes.
  • Prepare tables and schedules and make updates to drawings and designs.
  • Input data into MS Excel tables for representation of statistical or program data.
  • Include design and drawing of layouts for proposed architectural plan options.
  • Provide two- and three-dimensional views of projects for clients to visualize finished plans.
  • Consult with other drafters, supervisors, architects, engineers and clients to coordinate work, check designs and drawings and verify that specifications and design data are correct.
  • Review existing CAD drawings as a reference for the development of similar drafting work product. Work product shall include presentation drawings, construction documents, project specifications and notes, tables and schedules, and as-built floor plans.
  • Make final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure of project.
  • Field verify, photograph, measure and document existing field conditions.
  • Calculate square footage and amounts of material necessary for production or construction cost estimation.
  • File, categorize, save, and send documents, drawings, prints and design data.
  • Produce work product in strict conformance with established firm CAD file standards and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Associate of Arts Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Drafting, Design, or related field required.
  • Three to seven years of experience as a drafter required.
  • Strong written, oral, mathematical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) system (Architecture and Revit), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, MS Windows.
  • Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with construction terminology.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to perform field verification work.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Excellent client service and listening skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organization.
  • Exercises sound independent judgment under minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently as well as coordinate with a team.
  • Military experience a plus.
