Bellevue,Washington,United States BAMDP4Analytics & Information Management Services (AIMS) is seeking a User Experience Design Chief to lead the User Experience (UX) design discipline within a new and growing organization.
This position is located in Bellevue, Washington and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
Boeing Information Technology and Data Analytics (IT&DA) has launched strategic initiative to build a collaborative and agile platform for data analytics.
The Boeing AnalytX Platform is a digital accelerator focused on enabling users throughout Boeing to effortlessly use data to drive every decision within Boeing.
Our focus is on using user-centric design as a key to innovative data solutions, empowering all types of users for analytics self service, and building an active internal community.
This position will place you at heart of a fast-paced, growing organization and to shape the program as it is being created.
You will have the opportunity to:
Lead the Boeing AnalytX Platform initiative to partner with project teams to understand business requirements and technical limitations
Beresponsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes.
The UX Design Chief will be leading the initiative to enable Boeing AnalytX Platform to internalize and apply UX moving forward.
Job responsibilities include:
Partners with project teams to oversee and perform user-centered design activities that actively involve users throughout all phases of a project to ensure product usability.
Guides product decisions by guiding or conducting user research such as interviews and facilitating iterative feedback loops.
Oversees the definition of complex user requirements, user flows, and usability goals.
Oversees the creation of user interaction design alternatives for complex requirements, and conveys designs by building prototypes and style guides.
Leads or conducts iterative usability tests to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the designs.
Diagnoses and prioritizes complex usability issues and refines designs or recommends changes.
Leads the development of the Boeing AnalytX design discipline through the development of user-centered design best practices.
Provides mentoring to UX design employees to grow the discipline of user centered design and agile software development methodology within Boeing IT. Collaborates with and connects User Experience efforts across the enterprise and drives toward a unified UX strategy for Boeing AnalytX.
Establishes a learning environment and culture that promotes sharing user experience knowledge within Boeing AnalytX Platform and across Boeing.
Partners with the recruiting organization to identify talent, develop a healthy pipeline, and grow the team.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
Experience developing UX strategy and best practices at a team or organization level
More than 5 years experience with User-Centered design, usability, and interaction or visual design
Experience working in Lean/Agile software development and rapid iterative design and delivery of products
Excellent collaboration skills teaming with clients, product managers, developers, fellow designers, and related teams
Ability to determine the user-centered design strategy and lead the IT business customers through research, iterative design and development, and the delivery process
Ability to develop the visual design, branding and data visualizations to produce modern, compelling products
Experience with responsive and mobile design
Ability to communicate design rationale to stakeholders and continuously advocate for the end user
Ability to communicate and advocate for the importance of user-centered design and the UX practice within an organization and enterprise
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Factors, Human Centered Design, Visual Design, Computer Science
Experience with User Experience, Customer Experience or Usability
Typical Education and Experience
Technical bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
