Universal Parks & Resorts provides world-class entertainment destinations with signature theme parks that create unparalleled entertainment.JOB SUMMARY : The Project Manager, International IT has the overall responsibility for the successful planning and execution of projects for the Universal Beijing Theme Park & Resort. The Project Manager ensures that the deployment of projects to the production environment follows the project life cycle methodology and successfully meets the business goals. S/he will help organize and manage Request for Proposals (RFPs) and subsequent evaluations related to software applications, system implementations and project implementations. These systems support a variety of department operations and guest facing technology. S/he collaborates with business partners & internal/external technology resources to complete deliverables, such as business requirements, business process designs, functional and technical designs, testing and final sign off for production go live. S/he works in conjunction with the business analysts to ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner and reaches agreement with business stakeholders on mitigating risks and resolving issues.
This is a key position focused on opening Universal Parks & Resort’s first theme park in China, and will require an individual that can work effectively & positively in a highly complex and dynamic working environment. S/he will be asked to balance a broad set of priorities and ensure progress is made on all tracks of work.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT System/Infrastructure Delivery:
Partner with development team(s) to deliver new business capabilities through system implementations;
Develop & manage project plans, GANT charts and user stories;
Run SCRUM meetings and Stand-ups and IPM’s and maintain the AGILE methodologies;
Lead and organize the project team for the development of Business Case, Project Charter, RFI, RFP, vendor selection recommendation, and/or other project initiation documents;
Drive consensus on required deliverables per project milestone with vendors and internal teams, including quality standard of documents;
Support the training activities for business and IT Team Members to help facilitate the knowledge transfer of system functionality and technical configurations to insure supporting hand over smoothly
Support the production cut over strategy and detail cutover plan, including communicating deployment steps, timing, and resource needs to ensure business awareness and readiness for go-live;
Technical project/program management:
Assess project/program progress, and provide status updates to leadership;
Organize teams to build change management process, communication process, and oversee that the process is followed during project implementation;
Organize the team to identify issues and risks and build corresponding mitigation plans. Monitor issues and risks throughout the project and regularly communicate mitigation plan actions
Support requirement discussions, requirement reviews, design reviews, testing, and remaining project activities to insure required resource participate and deliverables meet quality standards and the project schedule
Collaborate with business users, internal and external technology teams in order to deliver a scalable application that exceeds requirements ensuring compliance with enterprise standards;
Establish good working relationships with project sponsors & external partners from business and technology groups;
Technology leadership:
Drive the desired business value-added results by aligning all technology needs and the overall priorities. Adhere to established IT policies, procedures, and budgetary constraints
Deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software; contribute technically to projects;
Develop and manage extensible, stable code bases for a variety of applications;
Provide technical subject matter and thought leadership within the area of application/infrastructure development weighing the pros/cons of design and technology decisions;
Evaluate various frameworks, technology and platforms to deliver world-class systems & infrastructure.
SCOPE: Responsible for planning and delivery of multiple technology initiatives for the Universal Beijing Theme Park & Resort.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 -10 years’ experience with systems implementations in IT project management and execution; PM experience on global IT projects which project lifecycle is greater than 1 years, team size is more than 20 FTEs;
Minimum 5 -10 years’ hands on experience with meeting facilitation, task management, time management, taking minutes, managing documentation, and action item management in both formal and informal settings;
Experience with on-premise and cloud applications, integrating with API’s & web services;
Experience with leading software selection and system implementation vendor selection. Strong project implementation experience in food & Beverage, Merchandise, warehouse management, or sales and marketing, mobile apps, and/or MRO;
Experience working in Microsoft Office and Project Planning in MS Project
Other: Knowledge of Business Process Mapping, Requirements Gathering, Project LCM.
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, use of design patterns and system;
Strong technical understanding of Service Oriented Architecture;
Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
Self-motivated & accountable, with a high level of commitment to responsibility;
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
Must be process-oriented and able to apply structure to complex problems;
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and communicate effectively with all stake holders;
Language – Fluent in English; desired proficiency in Chinese (mandarin)

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or Business Administration. PMP is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 5-10 Years of technology experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
