Job Description
The Production Technician will be responsible for the safe manufacturing of refractory monolithic products. This includes the movement of materials for production both replenishment and upon completion, the set up and operation of equipment and machinery to support production processes, operating materials moving tools to load/unload production vessels on the production line and finished goods into storage and/or trailers for shipment.Setting up adjusting and operating machinery in support of the production process; adhering to productions schedules quality standards and project specifications; troubleshooting equipment stoppages and reacting accordingly, reading work orders or following oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be used, counting, weighing, and recording number of units of materials used, checking for and adhering to quality standards, loading and unloading materials operating industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products, securing lifting attachments to materials and conveying load to destination
Reviewing blueprints, schematics, or other documentation to determine appropriate machine set up and checks in process or completed materials for compliance; performs routine maintenance and adjustments after each production run/change over.
Documents changes to process in SOP manuals; planning, assisting, documenting, and implementing process improvement techniques and devices
Working with Maintenance Technicians to perform routine maintenance and adjustments to machinery and acting as a diagnostic resource for troubleshooting
Supporting the HarbisonWalker Business System (HBS) including 5S and participating in Root Cause Analysis
Complying with established facility safety policies and procedures, and other regulations as applicable; maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
Basic computer skills; ability to enter data into a computer and navigate software; MS Office experience a plus
Strong reading and math comprehension
Two (2) to four (4) years of previous machine operating or production related experience preferred
Experience in basic mechanical troubleshooting a plus
Previous experience working in a flexible team based Production/Manufacturing environment
Must be able to work overtime
Excellent attention to detail
