Job Description

Davenport, IA is home to Purina's largest manufacturing facility with 75 buildings on its campus and over 400 employees - many of whom have remained part of the Purina Family for decades. Nestlé Purina's Davenport factory has been a fixture within this Midwestern city since 1927. Currently, the Davenport factory is one of Nestlé Purina's eight dry pet food factories within the U.S. and produces several varieties within the following brands: Dog Chow, Puppy Chow, Alpo, Beneful, Purine ONE, Cat Chow, Kitten Chow, Friskies, and Kit N Kaboodle.

Manufacturing is the very core of our business. The Production Operators within our factories have their hands in it all – unloading, dry pet processing, dry pet packing, pet treats and warehouse operations. You’ll train in several functional areas within the manufacturing environment so you can effectively provide support to our warehouse and production teams with any necessary repairs. Since safety is a top priority at Purina, much of your responsibility will focus on ensuring that our equipment and machinery remain in top-notch condition. Your ability to acclimate and problem solve quickly will be critically important as unforeseen equipment issues may arise throughout the normal operation day. You’ll have the opportunity to see our operations through the different shifts, working with experts in each of the different areas within manufacturing. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Train in specific functional areas within the factory environment
Provide support to operators in Unloading, Processing, Packing, Pet Treats and Warehouse
Maintain factory equipment as needed
Support the Production and Warehouse teams with necessary repairs to ensure safety and efficiency
Support the factory in continuous improvement initiatives

Perform all other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
Education:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Experience:
1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, large scale production, agricultural environment or military experience
