Job Description

Come Join Us Come work in an exciting environment in which you’ll use your passion, experience, and strong analytical skills to help bring new technologies to public safety and leave a positive impact on the world. We cultivate an environment that favors agility, initiative, and creative thinking. Our mission is to protect life, making the world a safer place through smart devices and software services. We genuinely love what we do and are looking for others who share this passion.
We are growing this team from scratch to pursue a multi-billion dollar market and we need your help. We’re kicking off an entirely new project that helps police officers in the most critical and time-sensitive situations – when they’re responding to a call for help. How do we get users the right information, at the right time, and in the right format, so that they can get to the scene of a crime and know exactly what’s going on? We believe this likely requires some combination of Uber-style mapping and routing, real-time communications and video streaming, and effective display of critical data, all presented to an officer driving 60 MPH in a 35.
Let's be clear - our user set is not your standard marketing focus group. Every single day, dispatchers take incoming 911 and emergency calls from people having the worst day of their lives. They use questioning and inquiry to draw out critical information from callers who are upset, frightened, and confused. Then, in seconds, they use a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system to communicate that information to officers and other first responders. Lives depend on dispatchers extracting information from disparate systems, deciding which units to send, and balancing priorities across large geographic regions. An industry-leading dispatcher experience will likely draw from consumer instant messaging, twitch gaming, data analysis tools, and air traffic control.
You will drive the dispatch experience end to end. We are looking for product leaders that are passionate about working on tough problems, getting close to users, and crafting an industry leading user experience.
Working in CAD is like being part of a well funded, early stage startup. In the beginning, you will dive into understanding the customer needs. You'll go on ride-a-longs with officers and sit-a-longs with dispatchers to conduct field research and understand what our law enforcement users need from their systems. What is the right interaction model? How best should all this data be visualized? What are the most important workflows? We need you to answer these questions (and question the questions). You'll then define the requirements and work with the design and engineering teams to ensure we're shipping the right stuff, in the right order, at the right time.
You'll own defining the product's vision, its roadmap, and how to approach and develop various capabilities as the product is built, and you'll be integrally involved in the building of the rest of the team. We would love to hear from you if:
You have a track record of shipping products as an end-to-end product leader. Bonus points for highly trained or technical users.
You can build a product vision, communicate it to a cross-functional team, and adapt it on the fly via direct engagement with customers and users in the field.
You can analyze user workflows from scratch (with the help of a phenomenal design team).
You have come up with creative solutions to user problems.
You know how to make trade-offs between qualitative, quantitative, and absent data.
You are comfortable with tons of autonomy.
You're OK with travelling domestically and overseas to meet with customers (about 15% travel). Compensation and Benefits:
An awesome office/working environment with the latest technology
Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefit package
Discretionary, unlimited PTO
Fun team activities and outings
Flexible working hours
Options for training in the US
Opportunities to ride along with local law enforcement We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
