Job Summary

Reporting to the Corporate HR Director, the Facility HR Manager will provide on-site HR support to a growing, 200+ person production/bottling operation located in Austin, Texas. This position will be responsible for providing a full suite of HR services to the facility, including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, benefits management, training and development, employee relations, employee performance management, regulatory compliance, HR policies and procedures and other administrative duties as assigned. The Facility HR Manager will work collaboratively with management to support all policies, goals and objectives of the company, and will represent the HR Department and the Company in a knowledgeable and professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties

Recruiting & Onboarding: Responsible for facilitating an effective hiring process including candidate recruitment, interviews, selection (in conjunction with Facility Management Team), reference checks, background checks, and correspondence.

  • Ensure candidate quality and fill positions timely.
  • Responsible for new hire orientations and managing the completion and retention of all appropriate onboarding materials

Compliance: Work closely with the HR Director and Facilities Management to ensure policies, procedures, legal requirements, and regulations affecting human resource functions are in compliance.

  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, maintaining records, and assisting in investigations
  • Ensure that the facility adheres to all state and federal regulations pertaining to employment matters.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with corporate policy administration, posting and work rules.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of all necessary HR forms and checklists.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining job descriptions.

Benefits Management: Responsible for the communication, enrollment and appropriate management of all company offered benefit programs for the facility.

  • Responsible for enrolling new hires, processing employee benefit changes, and assisting employees with benefit questions.
  • Manage FMLA, STD, LTD and other leave-related requirements, notifications and documentation.
  • Facilitate the on-site annual open enrollment process.

Employee Relations: With the guidance of the HR Director, work to maintain a positive employee relations environment by counseling managers and employees on human resource policies and rules, identifying and resolving problems or recommending courses of action.

  • Manage situations involving policy interpretation. Work with management to ensure consistent application of all such rules and policies.
  • Assist in the development and deployment of innovative solutions to employee relations issues affecting the facility in order to mitigate any legal or compliance-related risks.
  • Facilitate communication between employees and between departments.
  • Respond to Team Member questions, inquiries and concerns.
  • Manage and track all employee corrective actions.
  • With assistance from the HR Director, recommends appropriate action plans to handle HR issues, as necessary.
  • Responsible for employee termination procedures, exit interviews and unemployment insurance.

Training and Development: Use knowledge, experience, and continuous interpretation of facility dynamics to help understand and determine the training and educational needs of the hourly employees and administrative, management employees.

  • Maintain, log and file training documents.
  • Track required training for compliance.
  • As needed, develops and implements staff education.
  • As needed, assists with the professional development of key employees.

Performance Management & Employee Engagement: Ensure fair and consistent performance expectations and accountability.

  • Clearly communicate the connection between performance and career opportunity (pay, selection, promotion).
  • Develop and oversee practices to recognize, reward and appreciate associates.
  • Guide activities to promote inclusion, engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Recommends company programs to ensure a highly effective and motivated workforce.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications: Please note before submitting resume that only candidates who meet these criteria will be considered:

  • HR Experience in a Manufacturing or Food/Beverage Production environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 4+ years’ relevant HR Generalist or HR Management experience which demonstrates competency in principles and practices of human resource management systems, processes and procedures, as well as a thorough understanding of Texas and Federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Possess a Professional Credentialing/Certification, preferably a PHR or SPHR, or at minimum one of the SHRM certifications (SHRM-CP or -SCP), and maintain active credentials. Ability to stay up-to-date on information and technology affecting job duties.
  • Must possess integrity, be honest and ethical. Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; ADP Payroll Database software a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (early/late) in order to support shift workers
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others, maintains constructive working relationships.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Ability to influence others in a positive way.
  • Possess strong organizational skills. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Is proactive and has self-motivation skills. Ability to deliver on ad hoc and unstructured activities on a daily basis.

Bi-lingual in English and Spanish not required but would be considered a plus. (ability to use either language to speak, read, write, address groups & individuals, conduct investigations, counseling, training,)
