The Designer I participates in the project design and production. Working under the direction of the Project Interior Designer, the Interior Designer I is responsible for providing assistance with programming, space planning, documentation, presentation materials, furnishings and finishes selection, construction and installation services. Successful candidates will have Revit experience.

DUTIES

Specific responsibilities of the Designer I may include, but shall not be limited to:

  • Assist in preparing presentation drawings and material/sample presentations
  • Assist with coordination of design presentations and in-house reviews.
  • Develop proficiency in preparation of Revit documents, programming data base programs.Produce construction documents consistent with office standards.
  • Develop and maintain a practical knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
  • Assist in exploration alternative design material and color scheme directions within the constraints of the Client's program and budget.
  • Assist in generating a design that can be technically implemented.
  • Research and select materials, colors, and furnishings.
  • Assist in the development of material palettes and furnishings which are consistent with the design direction and support the overall quality of the project.
  • Input program data into electronic formats.
  • Assist in reviewing shop drawings and material samples for conformance with design intent.
  • Assist in the documentation of meetings.
  • Document telephone conversations.
  • Provide contract administration assistance.
  • Work to achieve the Client's goals.
  • Meet task and project deadlines.
  • Execute design tasks within the budgeted design hours.
  • Confirm an understanding of the Client's project goals/desires.
  • Communicate an understanding of task assignments and expectations
  • Demonstrates appropriate urgency to complete assigned tasks according to pre-determined schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 0-3 years professional experience.
  • Graduate of accredited interior design program or other related design program.
  • Strong design and graphic skills.
  • Strong computer software application skills.
  • Working knowledge of Revit
