Job Description
Job Summary:Firestone Walker is seeking an 805 Senior Graphic Designer to work in either our Paso Robles, CA or Venice Beach, CA location. The 805 Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for creating a wide range of design materials. The SGD will be required to produce creative on all 805 advertising and marketing materials. Including but not limited to retail, sales and business development collateral, point of purchase materials, catalogs/portfolio, product branding and multiple deadline-driven projects, and all marketing initiatives. Under the direction of the 805 Brand Manager, along with the Design Director, the SGD will be working with artists, copywriters, sales teams and marketing leads to develop innovative creative material for 805 products and all marketing campaigns.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Specifically, the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
Create all on and offline work including print ads, digital ads, email templates, banners, brochures, leaflets and website mock-ups
Act as Project Manager for all design assignments ensuring all creative work is produced on time, to budget and to the highest standard
Present new concept designs and visualization through sketches, drawings and illustrations
Work with Brand Manager and business development teams to create design and branding material for chain and off premise programming
Produce captivating creative designs and campaign concepts
Translate product positioning, existing research, and offline/online Marketing strategies into effective designs
Work with e-commerce team and internal and external developers to ensure aesthetics also are aligned with usability, accessibility, and web standards
Work with developers to ensure proper implementation within a web environment and ensure consistency and integrity of the creative vision
Integrate technical and visual solutions into final design concept
Manage and produce digital design work, including banner sizing and versioning
Provide design support to other business lines to create product graphics, logos, identity design, or other similar offline graphics
Concept innovative creative solutions, package and deliver to sales teams
Hold bi-weekly design review meetings with Brand Manager / Design Director to ensure they are satisfied and the work is on-brand and meets the brand guidelines
Assist with sourcing and managing freelancers as needed
Mentor all team members to ensure progression and improvement
Complete other production projects as needed
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Fine & Applied Arts, Communication Arts or a related field with three to five years of design experience in a similar role; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with multimedia and a deep knowledge of art, design, and photography with applied use in advertising
Expertise across a range of design platforms
Some photography and video production experience
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to gather, communicate and present information effectively in an interesting and engaging format
Strong team management, mentoring, project management, organizational, team building and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities by multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work with pre-existing branding guidelines, while simultaneously developing original material
Strong understanding of print process, strong typography skills, and understanding of creative and marketing trends
Ability to operate and use a MAC computer, proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
Knowledge of Web design and Social Media
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, walk, use hands to finger, handle, type or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
