Our Core Business Hours are 9am-3pm PST, so we expect all of our employees to work at least during those hours and are flexible on the rest of your hours.

GRIN is seeking a Vice President of Engineering. We are a fast-paced, fun organization going through rapid growth and solving technical challenges at an exponential scale.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and grow our Software Engineering, DevOps/SRE, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Quality Assurance, and technical program management teams
  • Modernize our infrastructure and software development practices and keep them up-to-date in alignment with latest technologies and best practices
  • Optimize our cloud computing costs to bring GRIN into alignment with typical Best-in-SaaS metrics
  • Ensure that our platform can scale in concert with the business, sustaining high-double to triple-digit customer growth rates
  • Ensure GRIN’s software is of the highest quality and minimizes defects in production
  • Ensure GRIN is fault-tolerant and has a ready-to-go disaster recovery plan
  • Ensure compliance with SOC2, ISO27001, PCI DSS, GDPR/CCPA, and social platform terms-of-service and other requirements as appropriate
  • Build a high performance engineering culture where GRIN is a workplace of choice for software engineers
  • Be able to execute upon technology partnerships or integrate acquired technologies into the GRIN platform
  • Own the end-to-end adoption and customization of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) within GRIN across all of the product and technology teams
  • Define and own an end-to-end planning cadence to execute upon our product strategy leveraging a 3-year long-term, 1-year medium-term, and 1-quarter high-precision views
  • Implement a dual-track agile structure to facilitate research and ideation a quarter in advance of delivery
  • Ensure consistent, predictable, and quality delivery across all product and technology teams whereupon a high quality Definition of Done is consistently met

What You’ll Bring:

  • At least 15-20 years of experience in software product development engineering leadership roles inclusive of production operations experience in a SaaS environment 
  • Experience leading and growing technology teams of 100+ team members
  • Experience implementing PMO/program management functions in a software development environment – preferably SaaS (please no management consulting or IT PMO-only experiences)
  • Proven familiarity and experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and customizing it to meet the contextual needs of an individual organization
  • Strong budget management skills with experience managing a $10MM+ budget
  • Ability to serve in an outward facing ambassadorial role to our Go-to-Market teams, customers
  • Experience working with and managing third party auditors
  • Extraordinary project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to condense complex information into simple language for the appropriate audience.
  • You have excitement for building up teams.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity, autonomy, and responsibility; you enjoy figuring out what needs to be done—and then doing it.
  • Experience at a fast-growing startup in a cross-functional environment
  • Proactive, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work independently at all levels in the organization
