You Will Be

  • Managing a team of 5-7 account managers by guiding SEO strategy, identifying account opportunities and obstacles, and developing communication skills
  • Closely overseeing and facilitating the onboarding of new accounts that fall under direct reports
  • Interfacing with direct reports’ clients to collect feedback, articulate value, present strategy and strengthen the relationship
  • Spearheading SEO strategy on select large growth programs
  • Act as primary channel relationship owner for Enterprise clients, communicating campaign wins, challenges, and learnings. Relay client objectives to supporting SEO team members, and provide constructive feedback to managers as needed
  • Providing bi-annual performance reviews and customized professional development plans for direct reports
  • Maintaining the ability to train account managers on all SEO fundamentals, including technical best practices and troubleshooting, keyword semantic strategy, international SEO, local SEO, site migration tactics, onsite optimization, user-experience, holistic paid media and SEO collaboration and algorithmic factors
  • Coaching direct reports on foundational skills, including clear communication, expectation setting, rapport building, active listening and conflict de-escalation
  • Continuously refining and updating the training process and materials for new hires
  • Leading Earned Media-related discussions and partake in internal or public speaking opportunities
  • Maintaining sufficient knowledge of core digital marketing channels, including offsite, affiliate, paid search, social media, content marketing, and email marketing.
  • Assisting sales team on audits, decks and pitches for prospective SEO clients
  • Improving business processes & workflows to better enable collaboration & efficiency between account managers, clients, and business units such as web development, accounting or marketing
  • Spearhead development of new department deliverables based on Earned Media industry evolution and opportunities
  • Report to the Head of SEO and other senior leaders on key client service pillars: same store growth, retention, new business and partnerships
  • Identify critical client/account issues and escalate them to appropriate executives in a timely manner
  • Anticipating the needs of the Head of SEO and providing concise, actionable information on account opportunities, account obstacles and direct reports
  • Directly manage 2 – 3 high profile accounts to stay current on applicable technology, tactics and industry trends
  • Using the account to test and learn new strategies, features and platforms and share findings with the SEO department

You Must Have

  • 4-7 years of experience working in SEO within an agency and/or client environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years prior staff management with development and mentoring experience
  • Extensive experience developing, optimizing, analyzing, and reporting on SEO campaigns for a diverse range of clients and verticals (e-commerce, enterprise, and lead gen preferred
  • Experience in enterprise international SEO, global SEO strategy, international search engines best practices, hreflang, keyword localization tactics and site cannibalization reduction strategies
  • Demonstrated technical SEO experience with large-scale enterprise site migrations.
  • Exposure to paid media and SEO collaboration
  • Familiarity with Local SEO principles for local profiles, landing pages, reviews, ratings, and citations management
  • Understanding of Core Web Vitals (CWV), page speed optimization recommendations and related CWV measurement strategies
  • Strong familiarity with HTML, CSS, Schema, JavaScript and general CMS platforms (as it impacts SEO)
  • Experience with analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google Data Studio
  • Robust knowledge of SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMRush, Moz, Screaming Frog, etc. and how to utilize APIs for data reporting
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and respond to situations quickly
  • Bachelor’s or related four-year degree
