Marketing Analyst

The Marketing Analyst provides analytical support to champion greater adoption and use of 529 education savings plans, ABLE savings plans, and state facilitated retirement plans. The position will measure and report on all marketing activities and track progress against organizational and plan specific goals. This role will work to standardize disparate measurement practices, inform optimization of engagement and conversion activities, and advance the departments analytical capabilities over time.

Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Compile and distribute monthly KPIs across programs calling out anomalies and actionable insights.
  • Serve as SME in web analytics, page tagging, and marketing automation reporting platforms.
  • Build out, maintain, and optimize baseline and campaign specific tracking, collaborating with campaign managers and insights and analytics partners.
  • Ensure departmental adherence to tracking and testing best practices.
  • Question and validate data/metrics provided from internal and external sources.
  • Help inform campaign strategy and design across engagement channels.
  • Identify trends and insights and make recommendations to optimize spend and performance based on key findings and industry best practices.
  • Consult on SEO strategy and ensure web assets are built with data capture and platform integration in mind.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and make recommendations where appropriate for testing and utilization.
  • Collaborate on roadmap to advance analytical capabilities, spearheading new analytical initiatives as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Understand, uphold, and optimize the marketing process.
  • Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business.
  • Minimum 7 years’ work experience in a marketing position.
  • Extensive experience in marketing automation reporting platforms and web analytics tools.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, resourceful with ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent listener and communicator who can quickly determine needs and distill into action plans and appropriate follow up.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and phenomenal attention to detail.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter and fast learner who is flexible and able to respond to frequently changing business needs.

  • Fluency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
  • Solid understanding of the marketing communications process.
  • Must enjoy working in a high-pressure environment with daily deadlines and many demands on your time.
  • Must display exceptional client service.

  • The ability to work both individually and as part of a cross functional team is crucial.
